some photos from dr sketchy nottingham this month! images by martyn boston. i am also accompanied by the ever wonderful anna fur laxis! which was for one of the drawn poses in the afternoon, for a cruella de ville inspired look. the others were from my performance. what a strange old life we lead, eh?!
So i was back in the studio yesterday with the camera.. Joe Black, a brilliant cabaret performer and great guy modelled for me during the shoot.
‘Gin drinking cabaret darling, musical comedy misfit and acid tongued ringmaster’ a pretty nice description I think!
I think we got some great portraits, I used a slightly different technique this time, using regular darkroom paper instead of the direct positive. This made negative prints instead of positive, which can then be copied and inverted in the darkroom. I am also going to be experimenting with solarisation of these prints as I think it’ll be well suited to these portraits, back to the darkroom!
more photos from the mark hilton camera obscura shoot!
Preview from todays shoot with Mark Hilton.
Using a camera obscura that he had constructed himself.
This is not edited, as the image is exposed directly onto paper and developed the old fashioned way. Just how i like it!
